8.1 The Baslow Felons The Baslow Association for the Prosecution of Felons was inaugurated in 1793. It still meets once a year, but its interest are now social rather than the prevention of crime in the village. This file is a copy of the original articles of the association.

8.3 Baslow Cricket 1800s Cricket thrived in the latter 1800s. These are names of players in the Baslow and Chatsworth Cricket Clubs. Information kindly provided by the late Gordon Bowering – a cricket enthusiast

Two of his maths exercise books have survived showing his best handwriting and the level of maths achieved by 13 year olds in 1875. The original is in Derby Rccord Office. 8.5 Longshaw Lodge The Baslow moorland used to be part of the Duke of Rutland’s shooting and sporting estate based on Longshaw Lodge. This is how the Lodge started.

8.6 Barlow Perambulation and Maps Barlow moorland adjoins Baslow. Below is a description of a perambulation around Barlow in the 1600s and early maps of Barlow parish I have included a modern map to help orientation. There is also a map by Wm Senior a well known cartographer at the time. It is Interesting to browse through getting an idea of what the Eastmoors were like 300 years ago
