When I retired from being a GP early in the 2000s, I spent more time on looking into the history of Baslow. Some things took my interest and I started to write then down. Research was never my forte, so I used the the resources I had available especially the Census, the Parish Records, helped tremendously by my local knowledge of the area. References are few, so any proper historian will question my deductions. However I think most of these articles are true, and hopefully the reader will find at least some of them of interest,
